WHO WE ARE
The Southern California Building Electrification Coalition is a group of people working to reduce harmful air pollution from methane gas appliances in the South Coast region. We support healthy air standards to help Californians create healthier and safer homes and buildings with efficient, pollution-free electric appliances for heating, cooling, and water heating.
WHAT WE DO
We advocate for stakeholders in the South Coast region to address the adoption of cleaner, more efficient electric technology:
Bring down the cost of electrifying and boost financial support.
Make clean appliance installation simple and quick.
Prioritize strong protections and benefits for underserved communities.
Identify potential housing impacts for low-income communities and renters.
Create high-road jobs and grow the pool of skilled workers to maintain and install clean appliances.
Ensure that Southern California decision-makers and residents see the value of upgrading to clean appliances.
OUR VALUES
We believe:
The South Coast Air Quality Management District should eliminate pollution from methane gas combustion that harms human health and the climate.
Underserved communities should receive investment and support so they can benefit from the upgrade to clean appliances.
Community-based organizations working in underserved communities should be influential in policy development and implementation.
